　　A three-dimensional oblique cutting was carried out to simulate the turning of SiCp/Al composites.The formation process of edge defects was analyzed, and the effects of cutting depth and speed were investigated.The results indicate that a negative deformation plane begins to form as the tool approaches the end of the cut and the crack propagation along the negative deformation plane results in the edge defects.
