Design of materials, material apphcation processes and products are traditionally loosely-coupled activities carried out by scientists and engineers with diverse expertise.It is beheved that, however, concurrent design of materials, processes and products is the most effective approach to achieve design objectives that meet the needs and follow the restrictions at different length-time scales.
