Aim: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of acute respiratory, which responds inadequately to anti-inflammatory actions of glucocorticoids (GC).RSV triggers expression and activity of cytokines, including transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β).We identified that TGF-β induces profound impairment of GC transactivation in human epithelial cells.We now explore the contribution of TGF-β to RSV-induced GC insensitivity.
