  Utilizing the rectangular network formed by 1,3,5-tris(10-carboxydecyloxy) benzene (TCDB) as a nano-reactor, the supramolecular coordination of zinc (Ⅱ) phthalocyanine (Zn-Pc) with 4, 4-di (pyridine)-ethene (DPE) has been performed at the 1-phenyloctane/HOPG interface.The coordination process is probed by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) technique.Based on the submolecular resolved STM images, we can deduce that one DPE molecule coordinates two Zn-Pc molecules to form a novel H-shaped supramolecular complex.
