Cancer is a very difficult biopsychosocial illness.Despite many developments have occurred in the prevention and treatment, cancer is still often considered synonymous with death, pain, and suffering and cause considerable stress not only to the patient but also to their families.A cancer diagnosis is a very stressful event, a real bad news, for the patient and their family.They try to adapt to the shock and uncertainty that such a diagnosis presents.Not only is there stress and uncertainty to contend with at an individual level but the family may be confronted with disruptions to routines and household roles, a possible decline in income and a reduction in the physical or psychological availability of the patient.Persons facing death due to terminal illness experience diverse physical, emotional, and relationship challenges.Dying persons have more than just physical needs, and spiritual issues may feature prominently as sources of intense struggle and comfort as people prepare to die.The spiritual health of the dying may be as important as their biological condition when facing death.
