  High-emittance coatings are widely applied in many high temperature fields to effectively transfer the heat by thermal radiation.The emissivity of a high-emittance coating is mainly dependent on the emissivity of highemittance fillers,and hence the preparation of high-emitance fillers is the key point for the preparation of high-emittance coating.In the present work,the high-emittance amorphous silicon oxycarbide(SOC)ceramic powder and its coating were fabricated and characterized.The xerogel precursor of the SOC ceramic powder was prepared in a sol-gel process,followed by high temperaure calcination.
