Chronic pain is a major heath problem worldwide, but currently available therapeutics are often ineffective or with serious side effects.Despite the rapid advances of modern neuroscience research technologies and the tremendous investment from both the academia and industry, we still lack a clear understanding of the mechanisms underlying various chronic pain conditions.Inflammation,injury or dysfunction in the nervous system, and diseases like cancer are common causes of chronic pain in human.
