Natural gas consists of not only methane which is the main component of liquefied natural gas,but also heavy gas which are used as a raw material of chemicals, such as ethane and propane. As the practical use and value of heavy gas, such as ethane, propane, and butane is standing out, many chemical process engineers have an interest in the separation process for the production of heavy gas using low cost.Based on these interests,a lot of research has been studied and attempted for increasing the economic feasibility of liquefied natural gas production. In general, the separation of heavy gas from pre-treated natural gas was conducted using a separation process using the low-temperature distillation. In this study, the new natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery process using a low-temperature distillation, which achieve the 85 percent of ethane recovery and 95 percent of propane recovery, was suggested and optimized for the reducing energy consumption. And the suggested NGL process was applied to the NGL/LNG integrated process which has the 5 MTPA production capacities.
