Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) has been shown to reduce the risk of death and improve quality of life in patients with heart failure who receive CRT in addition to standard pharmacologic therapy. It can also reduce symptoms and improve left ventricular function/geometry in patients with significantly reduced left ventricular function and cardiac dyssynchrony. We evaluated the effects of CRT on quality of life, improvement of care and outcomes in patients with advanced heart failure (AHF) who were dependent on Ⅳ therapy (inotropes/diuretics) and were hospital bound.
