Objectives To explore the relationship of RDW level with the blood pressure level and cardiac function.Methods A total of 130 in-hospital patients with essential hypertension was enrolled in hypertension group, which from Guangzhou First Peoples Hospital during July 2012 to September 2012, it was divided into 3 groups according to the blood pressure level [grade 1 hypertension group (n =29), Grade 2 hypertension group (n =47), Grade 3 hypertension group (n =54)], 82 healthy volunteers with normal blood pressure were assigned to the control group.
