The surface of the Li[Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05]O2 cathode material was coated by Co3O4 nanosheets with thickness of 100nm via a ultrasonic and stirring method.The electrochemical performances of Li[Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05]O2 were improved by the Co3O4-coating,especially the cycling performance.Although the initial discharge capacity of pristine and Co3O4-coated Li[Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05]O2 was almost the same,the capacity of the material at 0.2C between 3.0 and 4.2 V in room temperature can retain about 94 %after 100 cycles.
