A karst area is where soluble bedrocks, usually the carbonate rock, take more than 30 percent of the total rock masse. There are two typical karst landforms: caves and closed depressions, also known as sinkholes.Under conditions of karst engineering geology, different types of materials (e.g., crushed stones, etc.) are used to fill the karst caves and construct a drilled pile foundation.
