通过对全国主要棉区棉铃虫历史资料的研究和分析，结合进行全国棉铃虫预报工作的实践，阐述了搞好棉铃虫预报应重视的几个具普遍意义的问题，即使用总虫量和把握气候条件的变化对做好预报的重要性；提出各地应科学制定棉铃虫发生程度是搞好预报的基础，指出搞好数据库建设是提高测报水平的有效途径。
Through the research and analysis of the historical data of the cotton bollworm in the main cotton areas in the country and the practice of forecasting the cotton bollworm in the whole country, several common problems that should be paid attention to in forecasting cotton bollworm are expounded. That is to say, It is important to forecast the occurrence of cotton bollworm in various places. It is pointed out that building a database is an effective way to improve the level of forecasting.
