Based on the three point bending test, the fracture energy of mullite ceramics is calculated by using rupture work method as well as the variation regular of fracture energy along with the temperature difference, crack depth and other factors are investigated in this paper.A linear relationship between fracture energy and crack depth is observed, fracture energy has obvious size effect with the change of crack depth which is that the fracture energy decreases gradually with the increase of crack depth.Fracture energy reaches the maximum value when temperature difference △T is 400℃ under the range of △T 800℃, meanwhile the minimum at △T 600℃.The variation regular of the fracture toughness with the temperature difference is similar to that of fracture energy, the energy release rate ofmullite ceramics is about 25%-45% of the fracture work.
