Digenetic flukes are one of major health restraints to livestock production as they increase the susceptibility of livestock to viral and bacterial diseases which ultimately results in lowered productivity. In ruminants, some infections caused by digenic flukes have notable impact due to their wider range of definitive hosts and intermediate host.Common control methods used worldwide for the eradication of fluke infections include drenching with anthelmintics drugs. However, regular use of these drugs, with no standard monitoring of their efficacy has led to the development of resistance in flukes.
