The genus Coemansia (Kickxellaceae, Kickxellales, Kickxellomycotina) are small saprobes which can be isolated from soil or dung.Typical characters of Coemansia are yellowish colony color; septate sporangiophore with upper straight or spiral twisted sporogenous region bearing multicelled sporocladia producing pseudophialides laterally; merosporangia unispored, one produced from each pseudophialide, released in a droplet of fluid at maturity.
