Tea [Camellia sinensis(L.)O.Kuntze] and oil tea(Camellia oleifera Abel.)are two different species of Genus Camellia Linn.Theaceae.They differ greatly in secondary metabolites.In tea plant,the three major characteristic constituents are flavonoids,theobromine and theanine while in oil tea plant there are a wide range of the fatty acids,in current study,we investigated the comparative transcriptome in tea plant and oil tea plant using the next-generation Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform on RNA analysis(RNA-seq).
