Maize is the key crop for food,feed and nutritional security of the smallholder farmers in the developing world,including sub-Saharan Africa (SSA),Asia and Latin America.Innovative approaches as well as partnerships are required to develop,test and deliver elite stress-resilient and nutritionally enriched maize varieties with relevant traits,especially for the tropics which are particularly vulnerable to the changing climates.
