The maintenance of genome integrity is important in all cells.To conserve genome integrity, cells developed multiple molecular pathways to repair damaged DNA.Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (PCNA), which is a homotrimeric ring-structure complex plays an important role in coordinating the replication fork-associated process during the DNA damage response and replication.PCNA functions as a clamp for DNA replication proteins and a platform for multiple DNA repair enzymes.
