An implantable left ventricular assist device (LVAD); VentrAssistTM,has been promoted to the stage of clinical trail.Up to now,it has been implanted in over 120 patients.Instead of using thrombogenic pivots or power-drawing magnetic suspension,rotor is supported hydrodynamically when rotating,by lubrication flows in the thin spaces between itself and the pump body.
