Objective: To determine most effective psycho pharmacological treatment modalities used to treat PTSD.Purpose of the research, project, evidence review, clinical practice guideline: Psycho pharmacotherapy is an often used approach for the treatment of PTSD.There are five major psychopharmacological agents that are used to treat PTSD and although all are effective there is great debate as to which agent is most effective in treating this disorder.The purpose of this evidence review was to perform a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCT) of all psychopharmacological treatment modalities following the guidelines set forth by Cochrane Collaboration.
