The subway system consumes a lot of electricity in the metropolises of china.The regenerative braking technology can help the subway system saving electricity significantly.However,the regenerative braking system requires a special energy storage equipment to improve the electrical energy recovery efficiency,which can not be satisfied by battery,supercapacitor and mechanical flywheel very well.The authors design and develop a flywheel energy storage system (FESS) based on high-Tc superconductive (HTS) Maglev bearing.
