  Transition metal chalcogenides (TMC) attract significant attention owning to their unique optical, electrical and magnetic properties.Recently, numerous methods have been developed to prepare these TMC materials which provides new opportunities to exploit their unattainable application.In paticular, the synthesis of TMC with different structures, morphologies and compositions, has attracted immense interest because of their inherent anisotropic feature and controllable spatial distribution, which give rise to extraordinary properties.Here, a simple approach was utilized for the one-step synthesis of orthorhombic FeSe2 nanocrystallite.By changing the solvent polarity and reaction temperature, purities and morphologies of the target product have been deeply influenced.The structure, morphologies, compositon and their room temperature magnetic properties were discussed in the paper.
