Novel proton exchange membranes were successfully prepared for fuel cell applications by introducing p-styrenesulfonyl chloride into poly(ether sulfone)s(PES)via radiation-induced graft polymerization,which started from the aryl radical and the sulfonyl radical generated by the 60Co ν-rays with doses ranging from 50 to 150 kGy(dose rate: 225 Gy/min).
