Glucocorticoids (GCs) are the most effective anti-inflammatory drugs which are usually used for treatments of many inflammatory and immune diseases.1,2 The application of GCs in dermatology has brought about great improvements in dermopathic therapy since 1950s.However, long-term GCs medication may cause numerous cutaneous adverse effects, such as atrophy, erythema, and petechial et.al.The fact that GCs can never be used in cosmetic products is beyond question. And, within European Union.the adulteration of GCs in cosmetic is forbidden by Council Directive 76/768/EEC.-5 However, in recent years, it was found that some illegal manufacturers added anti-inflammatory GCs in their cosmetic products to obtain the anti-acne and anti-wrinkle effects. Therefore, there is a strong demand to develop analytical method which is able to rapidly screen the GCs adulteration in cosmetics.
