Affect in language learning has been increasingly attached importance to.Language shock,as an affect phenomenon in foreign language learning,is often neglected in classroom teaching.It refers to a situation or condition of fear,anxiety or nervousness when adult learners use a foreign language to express their ideas;they fear that their words in the target language do not reflect their ideas adequately,perhaps making them appear ridiculous or infantile,or their thoughts often go blank,which makes them unable to speak.
