This paper presents result of recent work of historical period of West-Central Thailand during ca.10th-13th centuries.It fell to the period when Dvaravati was in the stage of decline whilst the prominent rivals of Pagan and Khmer began to prosper.However the construction of the stone sanctuaries of Bayon style in the most west must have indicated the significance of today West-Central Thailand during such time.This research has explored the landscape of West-Central Thailand by remote sensing technique as well as by conventional method of field survey.The presentation will illustrate how satellite images can help identifying ancient sites and also discuss new archaeological evidence.The study region is believed to have been a desirable land for the rich resources throughout history.This work has contributed to the understanding of the social changes in Southeast Asian history after the classical period of Dvaravati.
