This paper assesses the impacts of tourism on the management of cultural heritage site. The study was carried out in Lumbini, the birthplace of the lord Buddha, which is considered a sacred site; particularly to the hundreds of millions of the Buddhists around the world.Lumbini receives more than half a million national and international visitors for different purposes. However, the growing number of visitors and their ritual activities become a challenge to manage the Heritage site management due. These ritual activities made by different Buddhist pilgrims include Lighting oil lamp/candles,burning incense, offering perfume, water, splashing milk, and throwing coins to the archaeological monuments.,In addition, more infrastructures to address the needs of pilgrims from different sects and nations yet to be created and developed. This is because "the Master Plan for Lumbini",which was started in 1978 with the auspicious of United Nations not yet complete and the existing strategies for the Lumbini development underappreciates the management of visitors in the core area.
