In this presentation some innovative seismic retrofitting techniques for Bridges and Buildings are introduced.In particular three different strategies are analysed: a) change of the static scheme of bridges to obtain a favourable seismic behaviour (from simple supported to integral abutment bridges);b) a retrofitting technique for concrete piers;c) the base isolation system (BIS) suggested as an innovative retrofit strategy for concrete frame buildings.
