  Alkali niobate ceramics have received special attention as promising candidates for lead free piezoelectrics.Processing of such materials at low oxygen partial pressure not only opens new opportunities for base metal cofired multilayer applications,but also helps to enhance the electrical performance,such as resistivity and permittivity.Among all alkali niobates,NaNbO3 is known to be a prototype antiferroelectric material which exhibits the largest number of polymorphs among all oxygen perovskites.
