There are a number of manualized treatments for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) as well as less structured therapies based on principles.We will describe commonalities associated with treatment of suicidal states utilizing multiple models, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Metallization-based treatment (MBT), STEPPS, Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transference-focused Psychotherapy (TFP).We will integrate broader principles utilizing Barlows concepts of transdiagnostic treatment to include mindfulness, behavioural activation, and psychodynamic approaches.Through the use of case presentations we will discuss common aspects to effective treatments of suicidal patients with borderline personality disorder.
