Reproductive performance is a vital economic index in the production of goat.In our study,we investigated the placental cotyledon traits,cotyledon structure and their relations with reproductive performance in 79 Dazu Black Goats(single births,n=21,G1; twins births,n=47,G2; triplets births,n=11,G3).We significantly compared the cotyledon support efficiency(CSE,defined as the ratio of birth litter weight to placenta cotyledon area),cotyledon density(CD,defined as cotyledon number per gram placental weight),cotyledon area(CA)and cotyledon number(CN)among the above group.
