The mere arrival of a cardiac diseased mother with her apprehensive look raise certain dilemmas ; can she continue her pregnancy? ,what will be the risks of morbidity and mortality?, how safe will be her baby?, even if everything in this pregnancy is uneventful can she be subsequntly pregnant?.Being an obstetrician how far i am able to answer these questions will predict her pregnancy outcome.Despite advanced diagnosis and management, heart disease during pregnancy is responsible for 1/3rd of maternal mortality in India.
