Background In-stent neoatherosclerosis (ISNA) has been demonstrated to be a possible mechanism of late stent failure and late thrombotic events after stent implantation.The mechanism of neoatherosclerosis after stent implantation is still unkown.The present study was designed to investigate the significance of peristrut foamy macrophage clustering in ISNA of rabbit model using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and histology examination.
