MCPH1/microcephalin is proposed to function in ATM- and ATR-mediated DNA damage response (DDR),and controls cell cycle progression and genomic stability. After ionizing and UV irradiation,MCPH1 colocalizes with several key components of DDR,including 53BP1,MDC1,NBS1,and RPA,as well as Chk1 and BRCA1.
