Co(OH)2/carbon nanomaterial has been prepared by a novel route that combined plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition and electrochemical deposition.Sheet-like Co(OH)2 can grow on different carbon nanomaterial, including graphene nanosheets (GNS), amorphous carbon (APC) or hybrid carbon nanomaterial (GNS/APC).Table 1 lists the electrochemical test results of Co(OH)2 supported by different carbon nanomaterials and shows that different carbon nanomaterials have different influences on the pseudocapacitive properties of Co(OH)2.The introduction of carbon nanomaterials between Co(OH)2 and Ni foam demonstrates an enhancement of electrochemical stability, specific capacitance and rate capability. The carbonaceous supports can not only act as a template to direct the growth of as-deposited hydroxide but also affect the conductivity of the electrodes and the electrochemical properties of the whole system, which may provide a technical references for improvement in the controllable preparation and combination of composites in the future.
