Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the impact of radiotherapy and chemotherapy on the quality of life(QOL)in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)patients.Method: Twenty-two nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients scheduled for intensity-modulated radiotherapy, who met the inclusion criteria and gave informed consent were c recruited. All patients were rendered dentally fit before undergoing radiotherapy.Study subjects were asked to fill up the University of Washington QOL questionnaire(UW-QOL v4)with the assistance of a trained interviewer at 3 time points: pre-radiotherapy and 2 weeks post-radiotherapy and more than1 year postradiotherapy.Occurrence and timing of chemotherapy was recorded.
