The dismantling of complex assemblage originated from tectonic blocks and microcontinents can provide a dramatic scenario related to the tectonics involved in the amalgamation and breakup of the supercontinent. In NE Asia, evidences for progressive collision, subduction, and relaxation episodes involved in the amalgamation and disruption of the Rodinia supercontinent and the final amalgamation of the NE Asia along the Triassic Qinling-Dabie-Sulu belt and its tectonic correspondence in the Korean Peninsula are preserved in the sedimentary sequences within the orogenic belts. The Central China Orogenic Belt (CCOB) in the central Sino-Korean continent, including Qilian-Qinling-Dabie-Sulu areas, preserved evidences for major Early to Middle Paleozoic suture in addition to the final Triassic amalgamation (Fig.1a).
