The location of North China Craton (NCC) in Gondwana is debated.Some researchers believe that it was completely separated from the Gondwana supercontinent (Li,Z.X.,& Powell,2001) whereas others believe that it was part of East Gondwana (Metcalfe,2013).In this debate the tectonic evolution along the southern rim of the NCC from Gondwana assembly to breakup in the Paleozoic is a critical constraint.We have used detrital zircons from Carboniferous bauxite deposits in the southern part of the NCC to address this question.The results are reported in this presentation.
