A lipid type molecular gel system was assembled on carrier particles to use as stationary phase for the separation bioactive-and shape-constrained isomers of tocopherols,-carotene, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).Self-assembling low-molecular-weight gelators (LMWGs) have attracted interest because of their unique properties and usefullness in a wide range of applications in various fields such as drug delivery, tissue engineering, templating, molecular electronics, sensing etc.In these self-assembling system, gelation is induced by three-dimensional network formation from nanosized one-dimensional fibrillar aggregates constructed of highly ordered assembly like aqueous lipid bilayer membranes.A number of self-assembling systems have been used as separation phases.
