  Purpose A new co-processed compound made of lactose and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) was prepared for direct compression.Methods The properties of the compound has been compared to that of the physical blend.Results The compound exhibited good flowability, compressibility and shorter disintegration time.Conclusion The compound was superior to physical blend in direct compression.
