Lignocellulosic biomass,the most abundant organic material in nature,is one of the most promising feedstocks in biorefinery for production of fuels,chemicals and materials.The main chemical compositions of lignocellulosic biomass are cellulose,hemicelluloses and lignin.To integratedly utilize these natural polymers,we have developed a processes to pretreat lignocellulosic biomass with formic acid to obtain cellulosic pulp,hemicellulosic syrup and lignin products,which is termed as “fractionating pretreatment”.The fractionated compositions showed great promises for co-productions of fuel,chemical,material and electricity.
