Objective: Liquid based cytology was performed to 61 patients who had visited department of oral and maxillofacial surgery with chief complaint of oral mucosal lesion from February 2012 to April 2013.Among them, 9 patients were excluded who had not performed scalpel biopsy.Based on the results from liquid based cytology and scalpel biopsy,sensitivity and specificity were analyzed then efficacy of liquid based cytology was evaluated.
