Objective: To investigate on the relation of NSCL/P and BMP4 gene T538C mutation in Northeast China.Methods: The rs17563 polymorphism of BMP-4 was examined by PCR-RFLP in 85 NSCL/P patients families, 55 incompletely NSCL/P patients families and 180 healthy controls.Results: There was no statistically significant results in FBAT(P＞0.05).Carrying C allele calculated patients suffering from non-syndromic cleft lip and palate was not carrying the risk allele C of 1.612 times the patients P＜0.05.TC homozygote risk of non-syndromic cleft lip and palate risk of TT homozygotes 1.599 times P＜0.05.Conclusion: the rs17563 polymorphism of BMP-4 is associated with NSCL/P in population of Northeast China.
