In the past 2 years,Nazarbayev University (NU) in Kazakhstan has been developing a plan to construct an experimental facility as part of an energy research center in Kazakhstan.The primary option being considered is an international users facility based on the NDCX-2 induction linear ion accelerator technology (developed at LBNL) for studying WDM/HEDLP,HIF and accelerator science.NU is now expecting the project to advance with possible government funding of about $10‐20 million dollars over the next 5 years.
