Marc G.Stanley, the Director of the U.S.Advanced Technology (ATP) , will discuss the programs efforts over the past 17 years to fund innovations in medicine.He will discuss the structure of the program and highlight successes and impacts of ATP projects in diagnostics, therapeutics, improving healthcare information, and other ar eas impacting the future of medicine.The ATP funds high-risk, enabling technologies with the potential for broad-based benefits to the U.S.econo my.Its mission is to accelerate the development of innovative technologies through partnerships with the private sec tor.The program, operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is part of the U.S.Department of Commerce, and began funding projects in 1990.
