　　In this paper,a dielectric loaded grating for Smith-Purcell(SP)device is proposed.The results obtained from two-dimensional particle-in-cell(PIC)simulation show that,comparing with metal grating,the usage of dielectric loaded grating shortens the time to reach saturation and reduces the start oscillation current of SP backward wave oscillators.
