Sugarcane bagasse was firstly pretreated with alkali sodium at a S/L ratio of 1:6 to break up the complex cellulose instructure.Simultaneous saccharification and fermentation(SSF)was a direct and effective way to minimize the end-products inhibition to cellulase and had the advantage of reducing production capital cost and improving the productivity of ethanol fermenting. The optimal pH,temperature and prehydrolysis time of SSF processes with Saccharomyces cerevisiae were investigated at a solids loading of 12%.
