Weak acidic electrolyzed water (WEW) was evaluated as a potential sanitizing agent against two strains of seafood-borne bacteria,.Vibrio vulnificus and Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The available chlorine concentration,pH and ORP of the WEW generated in this study were 35.0 A± 0.8 ppm,5.9 A± 0.1,and 798.0 A± 11.0 mV,respectively.V.vulnificus was not detected when the cell suspension was treated for 30 sec with sodium hypochlorite solution or WEW with about 35 ppm of available chloride concentration (The mixing ratio of cell suspension and sodium hypochlorite solution or WEW was 1∶19).
