Droplet-to-Particle technique has been mainly applied to preparation of various oxide particles. The particles were prepared generally in micron or submicron size and spherical shape with relatively narrow distribution. However, the particles were often obtained in hollow sphere and/or high porosity under the condition of high reaction rate due to delayed evaporation of solvent. Moreover, the distribution of particle size was not always narrow due to complicated nature of the conversion mechanism. The control of the properties of the particles, therefore, has been the main topic of the researchers interested in the technique. We have applied the same technique to the preparation of oxide and metal particles such as cobalt and investigated which variables are detrimental to determine the size and morphology of the particles.
